Revised Jesus statement ready for viewing
We are grateful for all of you who thoughtfully participated in conversations and feedback from September 2010 – September 2011 about the original draft of Trinity’s Jesus statement. Based on your ideas and suggestions, the Theology Project Leadership Team spent a significant amount of time in conversation about how to improve the statement. It has taken us a while, but we are ready to share another draft of the Jesus statement with the congregation. To read the new version of the Jesus statement, click here.
Due to the nature of the feedback and changes, we are posting this new version for you to review before our Congregational Council approves this statement. Please let us know what you think by April 30, 2012. If you don’t remember what the original version said, click here.
Gratefully,
The Theology Project Leadership Team
Dan, Siri, TJ, Candee and Cory

1. God reveals.
God is real and wants to be known. It is God’s desire that we experience the vastness of God and the intimacy of God in the fullness of all that God is and will be. God reveals God’s self to us through sacred scripture, creation, the person of Jesus, one another, and meditation and prayer. There is one God of the whole universe, who has revealed God’s self in a variety of ways to different people at various times and places.

2. God creates.
God called forth this creation over billions of years and continues to create something new in each moment. God is present throughout God’s sacred creation and is active in our lives today. All of creation has the ability to grow, adapt, heal and die. God loves the whole creation and has given humans the responsibility to take care of it. Creation’s beauty is to be enjoyed and cared for by every generation.

3. God desires.
Through scripture we learn that God desires a world of peace, equity and justice. God acts through people to make these intentions a reality in our world. We believe that God’s desires can become ours as we become more aware of God’s presence in our lives and in the world.
