It is God’s desire that we experience the vastness of God and the intimacy of God in the fullness of all that God is and will be. God reveals God’s self to us through sacred scripture, creation, the person of Jesus, one another, and meditation and prayer. There is one God of the whole universe, who has revealed God’s self in a variety of ways to different people at various times and places.

God is present throughout God’s sacred creation and is active in our lives today. All of creation has the ability to grow, adapt, heal and die. God loves the whole creation and has given humans the responsibility to take care of it. Creation’s beauty is to be enjoyed and cared for by every generation.

God acts through people to make these intentions a reality in our world. We believe that God’s desires can become ours as we become more aware of God’s presence in our lives and in the world.

Erickson http://siricerickson.wordpress.com/?p=189 ]]> God loves us and is in relationship with us whether we feel distant or close, worthy or unworthy, righteous or guilty, certain or doubtful. God’s love can show up in our lives as grace, mercy, forgiveness, liberation, encouragement, and challenge. We can experience God’s love through participating in worship and prayer, meditating on scripture, interacting with other people, befriending those who are poor and hurting and marveling at God’s creation.

God interacts with a world that has its own freedom and in which people make real choices that have real consequences, both good and bad. God works for good in the midst of all situations, no matter how difficult or devastating. God doesn’t cause life’s tragedies, but God is present with those who are suffering, working to bring healing, comfort and hope.

God’s healing power works through individuals and communities to bring transformation, renewal, forgiveness and reconciliation to the world. This healing power helps people move from despair to hope and from death to life.
